Recapturing Joy

Life today is difficult.  Disappointments, frustrations, impatience, worry and other problems challenging us, sometimes makes it easy to lose our ability to laugh.  Laughter can be so healing.  Did you ever really listen to a small child laugh right from his belly?  It is such a contagious laugh that we find ourselves laughing along!

Yes, it is easy to forget these days, how to enjoy life as if we were a small child, and the world we know is fun.  For one thing, we forget how to enjoy one another.  We become so involved in our every day hectic craziness, that we fail to grasp those wonderful, simple, daily celebrations in our lives.  Celebration keeps us balanced in a difficult world, renews our perspective, and recaptures joy.

It's simple.  Make everyday a celebration. Light a candle, share a glass of wine, use your expensive china even if dinner is a bowl of soup, put your finest linens on the table, change your sheets and spritz them with fragrance, buy fresh flowers, watch a funny movie, play in the snow, walk in the rain, put the music on and dance!   We tend to take ourselves so seriously sometimes, that humor has no place within us.

A real benefit of celebrations is that it can be very simple, yet the dividends are so great!  Celebrate Life!

Hi! Ginny,

Love your post! I agree! We should pause and take a moment to truly enjoy life. As adults, we tend to feel we cannot express our inner child. Children are free to express with no worries of being judged. They simply enjoy themselves. I say just let go and have fun :o) The simple things in life.... are precious!
Thanks for sharing.

Have a joyful day!

SIGH!!!!! oh girl...first off something funny..I came here because I NEEDED something, and God knew where I would find it...here...but the funny part. I'm busy reading the first post, the red candle..and I'm filled with tears..just a sweet blessing to my spirit the words you wrote, the presence of our Lord here...I decide to continue reading and scroll down, than I look off to the write and see you...and burst out laughing. You and I both are sitting the same way..LOL. I thought it was too cute..like we were both across from the table from one another, our hand propped up on one side of our face...and the Lord beside each of us...Thanks for the 'tea therapy' sis..((hugs)))
